4months today!

Hello everyone,
Guess what! I'm a big 4 months old today! I now weigh 10.25 lbs. How do I know? Well, I went to the vet yesterday for my last shots and that's what my doctor told me. Could you believe I was 5.75 lbs when I came to my mommy and daddy on January 19?

Let's see, what have I been doing since last month?

* I go to puppy school every Sunday. I meet lots of other dogs and other people to play with. It's really a lot of fun! Sometimes I forget I'm on the small puppy side and I escape over to the big boys side. Which I don't understand anyway because I'm a big boy. People just don't know it yet.
* I went to my first puppy class. I was a little bored because mommy and daddy already taught me how to SIT and be CRADLED. I just wanted to play with the other bitches that were there. Yes, I was the only boy. Well, there was a chihuahua there, he was always hiding behind his mommy and daddy. So I chased around some really furry white doggie. I tried to get her digits, but we had to go back into the training session. Sheesh. Talk about ruinin my game.
* I know how to do a few more tricks. I can roll over all by myself. My mom played "Guess which hand" game with me. The first time, I didn't get it right. But after a few times, I figure it out! That game is fun! I also know how to do the "Give me give, up high, down low, too slow" game that mommy plays with me. Personally, I think it's a mean game, teasing me like that! I try my bestest to be as fast as I can so I can get my treat!
* Mommy and daddy now let me sleep in their bed. Oh boy, is it really comfy! They both love it too. But sometimes, I do stay in my crate. You know, sometimes a guy just needs his own space.
* Oh, let's not forget how my puppy pictures got exploited! My mom was soooo furious!! The pictures are down now, but I can't help but think about who thought they were buying me!! poor people!
* I got me a snuggle sack! It's really cool. But, mommy had to wash it. One day, I was trying to tell her I needed to go pee, but I guess I wasn't loud enough and I peed right on it. I thought mom would be mad, but she just picked me up and brought me right outside. I can't wait to use it again.
* I got an ear infection! No wonder!! I kept scratching my ear until it was bloody. My mommy and daddy are now washing my ear out and putting this medicine in 2x a day. I don't like the feeling! But boy does it feel good when they start rubbing around my ears! I feel better now. I'm not scratching it as much any more.

Today, I spent most of the day sleeping with my daddy. then when my mom came home, she was sad because she told daddy that she lost the camera. I guess this means no pictures of me for a while! Then we all slept together. (I like to sleep alot). my mommy brought me to Petco to get me a toy for my birthday! She's the bestest! I couldn't get alot because she said that she has to save money for a new camera.

It was a good day! Tonight, I'm just going to chill, probably sleep, while mommy watches American Idol...

ear infection!

aston got his last round of puppy shots today (incl rabies). yay! he gets to finally go out in the world! we're planning to take him to his first trip to the dogpark this weekend. hopefully it isn't raining!

anyway, we also got his ear checked out. a couple weeks ago, i brought him in because I noticed that he was scratching his ear til they bled. well, turns out I paid $40 for the vet to freaking just clean his ears. ugh. well, better safe than sorry, eh? well the condition came back. this time, he was waking up in the middle of the night, scratching it. we tried covering it with a booty, but that didn't work. so, the doctor found that he indeed has an ear infection. he now has to have his ear washed out every day with this special formula, and 2x a day with this ointment of some sort. my poor baby. good news is he's reacting well to it because he hasn't been scratching it at all today.

by the way, aston now weighs 10.25 lbs, a day before his 4th month birthday!

aston's 1st puppy class

aston had his first class yesterday. we were late. whoops. on the smaller puppy side there was an american eskimo, a chihuahua, a border collie? aston is used to being in that area for playing on puppy social sundays, so he was excited to play with the other dogs.

this session, we learned how to do:

voice recognition

puppy sitting in front of you, face to face, show treat, and then say either "watch" or "look". when the puppy looks you in the eye, reward them with the treat.
aston's attention span was SO short! all he wanted to do is look at the other dogs, see what they were doing and try to play with them! he wasn't even interested in the treats we brought, which he devours at home. he LOVED the trainer's treats tho. but maybe because it was something new - new treat & new person?? anyway, we're working on this as homework since he didn't really do it during the class. haha

aston is a CHAMP at this. he loves being held like this. i swear, i'll pick him up mid-BT500s and he will settle right down. he's so easy going!

uhm, yeah. aston learned this trick long ago. most of the other dogs did too.

overall impression of our first session.
sort of not what we expected. there seemed to be a lot of "play" time. i mean i know puppies have short attention spans and learning should be fun, but i dunno. i wish the play times were shorter. but what do i know about training dogs? hubby didn't like it too much. in fact, he complained while we were there. i'm hoping the next couple sessions are better. if not, i've already got my eye on another training program for his future classes.

a pal on www.woofboard.com brought to my attention that aston's pictures were being used to sell a puppy on www.puppyfind.com.

apparently, aston is a homeless FEMALE selling for $750. I was, and still am, LIVID. now, it's more of the fact that countless people are being scammed.... apparently, his pics were stolen from www.dogster.com. Dogster made an announcement on their website basically stating that there has a been a rash of photos stolen from their site and used on puppyfind.

i've contacted the owner of puppyfind, the "seller", "7 on your side", "Contact 4" and "Internet Crime Complaint Center".

UGH. this is just SICK AND WRONG!!! needless to say, i have deleted my account from dogster. i realize that it isn't entirely dogster's fault at all.. but if aston were my human child, and i knew that my child's pictures were being stolen from a particular website for their own gain, you better believe that I'm deleting my account to protect my child!!

i am now taking added measures to protect my photos. I realize that if i were to post pics anywhere on the internet, i run the risks of getting my photos "stolen". I just downloaded a program called iWatermark that will allow me to post pictures that have a copyright notice on them to prevent thieves from using my pics.

this puppyfind.com has GOT to go down.... my case isn't the only one. there are least two other members on the board I'm on who's got pictures of their pups being used to sell... it's LUDICROUS!!

after playing hard tonight, aston plopped himself on his daddy in some peculiar position and fell asleep instantly... right on daddy's feet...

whoah. aston had way too much fun with miss purple pooch. just now, he was humping SO hard, so much so that he was humping on his back and on his sides... that his little wee-wee came out!! it was the first time we ever saw something like that, so we were freakishly fascinated by his little "red friend". hahahha and we freaked out cuz it was out for a long time. it went back in after a while tho. whew. i was almost gonna call the vet!! afterwards, he was fascinated with it. he kept backing up to lick himself. after it got tucked back in, he kept looking for it. HAHHA

i posted the following on BT boards to find out what's going on with Aston's muzzle:

the white on aston's muzzle is particularly pink. it wasn't really like this when we first got him. there's a little pink dot, perhaps from scratching too hard? is this pinkness normal for his age (15 weeks), an indication of an allergy, or other? we were just at the vet this past monday and she didn't say anything about it... i tried to take some close up pics, but the ones i got aren't all that great....

here's my boy, at 14.5 weeks doing some tricks. he knew sit, down and gimme 5 within the first week we got him. he can do COME but not consistently. we are teaching how to stand (more specifically, STACK) and to pray. lol (that's both paws on my open hand, and head down. he can get that sometimes, too... but again not consistent.

in the video, he's doing his commands a little slow, but he's usually fast about it. he's now learning ROLL OVER and this is one of the few times he's done it on his own without me pushing him over. heehee it's just kinda hard cuz i'm holding the camera with one hand and then giving commands and then trying to give him his treats. LOL. talk about multitasking. Oh, and please excuse my nasty arse voice. LOL.... and no, i don't always talk that high pitched. HAHAHH

puppy social - week 3

every sunday, i bring aston to a puppy social. this was his 3rd week. with each passing week, he gets more brave and playful. i love seeing him build his confidence when playing with others. he's one of the smallest pups (if not THE smallest) one there, but alot of them are intrigued by how spunky he is. he's one never to back down from any dog - no matter how big or small they are! boston's just don't know that they really are small dogs. hahah...

i uploaded all the pics from the digital camera into the computer last night because i wanted to take pics of him today, but darn it... it said the memory was full after 3 shots. weird. i'm gonna have to figure that one out. anyway, here are three pics of aston with one of his buddies, trigger - a border collie.
